I always knew that I would work in the media industry.  After completing my BA in Media, Communication and Culture at NMMU, I headed off to London, shunning the idea of working for my dad’s media services company in my back garden.

Living and working in a fast-paced, cosmopolitan city like London taught me a lot. I do miss working alongside people from all over the world, office drinks down the pub on a Friday afternoon and budgets for company Christmas parties, but it’s great to be back, working in my back garden.

When I returned to Port Elizabeth three years ago, my dad offered me the opportunity to take over Media Axis along with my mom, while he moved into a new career direction. 

I feel blessed to be in the position to own my own business and to be able to exercise creativity in my job every day.
